Manufacturing

Odoo for manufacturing, configured for how your production actually runs.

Our practice spans discrete manufacturers, process manufacturers and distribution operations, including multi-site groups consolidating onto one platform. BOMs, routings and traceability handled as part of the configuration from day one, not added later.

Industry knowledge

We understand how manufacturing runs. That's why it works.

Manufacturing covers very different businesses. A multi-plant process manufacturer, a discrete-assembly tier-2 supplier and a wholesale distributor each operate in their own way. What they share is the same hard reality: standard ERPs are sold on demos that don't survive the first messy BOM, the first capacity conflict, or the first set of customer-specific pricing rules.

  • Master data is the difference between a demo and production.

BOMs that drift. Routings that don't reflect what the production team actually does. Stock counts the system trusts but the warehouse doesn't. None of that gets fixed by switching ERP. It gets fixed by treating master data as the first work in the implementation, not the last.

  • Generic ERP doesn't do what your production does.

Finite-capacity scheduling on work-center calendars. Multi-level MRP with constraint propagation. Subcontracting with back-flushing. Lot and serial traceability that passes IATF or BRC audits. None of these are toggles. They are configured deliberately, or you keep paying the monthly reconciliation cost of spreadsheets beside your ERP.

  • Distribution flows belong in the same platform.

If you make goods and sell them, running production in one system and distribution in another shows up every month in inventory reconciliation, margin reporting and customer service. The work is running them on one platform with one set of master data, not stitching two together.

What we deliver

Deep expertise where it matters most.

Dynapps is the world’s leading Odoo implementation partner and brings what makes Odoo work in production: standard Odoo MRP for BOMs, routings, work orders and traceability; advanced planning for finite-capacity scheduling and multi-level MRP where standard Odoo runs out of road; EDI middleware for trading-partner integration; and the modelling discipline from running Odoo in production at 100+ manufacturers and distributors across our five markets.

How we work together

A proven approach and dedicated team.

End-to-end Odoo solutions, from the first conversation to ongoing optimisation.

  • 01

    Discovery

We dive into your production environment and supply chain, mapping BOM structures, routings, work centers, demand patterns and stock flows. We identify the master-data gaps that will determine whether the implementation lands or stalls, and define a clear, realistic roadmap.

  • 02

    Configuration

We translate your operation into one platform: configuring MRP, work-order flows, traceability and integration patterns around how you actually run today. We validate the setup with the production and finance teams and refine on their feedback, against your real scenarios.

  • 03

    Go-live and training

We implement, migrate and go live with you, testing the configuration against your actual production scenarios. Operators get the tablet training they need to be confident from day one, not a generic ERP course.

  • 04

    Continuous improvement

We keep improving as you grow, monitoring usage, gathering feedback from the production and planning teams, and iteratively rolling out enhancements. Adding advanced planning. Layering EDI partners. Opening multi-site rollouts.

Industry challenges

Challenges we see most in manufacturing.

  • Replacing a legacy ERP.

The ERP that built the business now holds it back. Common in multi-site manufacturers and distributors that outgrew a system installed ten or more years ago.

  • Planning that doesn't scale.

Spreadsheets, manual scheduling, capacity always over-promised. Surfaces when growth or product variety makes the current planning approach unworkable.

  • Disconnected systems.

Production data and finance live in separate systems. Month-end close becomes archaeology and margin reporting becomes guesswork. Common in older multi-site operations.

  • An Odoo that underdelivers.

Already on Odoo, but still not getting what was promised. Configuration drifted, customisations were added without discipline, and BOM and routing data degraded. A take-over starts by assessing master data and customisations.

Questions, answered

Everything you need to know about Odoo for manufacturing.

Can't find the answer you're looking for? Please reach out to us.

  • Yes. Odoo by Dynapps runs in production at 100+ manufacturers and distributors on Odoo across our five European markets, from single-site discrete assembly to multi-plant process operations. Whether it fits your operation depends on how the BOMs, routings and stock flows get modelled in the implementation.

  • Odoo's MRP module covers bills of materials, routings, work centers, production orders and demand-driven procurement. It supports make-to-stock, make-to-order and engineer-to-order in one configuration. For finite-capacity scheduling and multi-level planning, we extend Odoo with Frepple in larger manufacturing implementations.

  • Yes. Odoo supports EDI integration via dedicated connectors and middleware for EDIFACT, X12, and Peppol BIS for e-invoicing now mandated across Belgium, France and Spain. The implementation work is rarely in the protocol but in the partner-specific data mappings and exception handling.

  • Yes. Odoo supports lot and serial-number traceability from raw material to finished goods, with batch genealogy, expiration tracking and recall reporting. The configuration decides which traceability level applies per product family, which determines whether IFS, BRC, IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 audits hold up.

  • Yes. Production orders define what gets made; work orders cover the individual operations on the shop floor, linked to work centers and operators. Both can be tracked with barcode scanning, time registration and inline quality checks on shop-floor tablets or terminals.

  • Both. Odoo supports recipe-based BOMs, by-products, co-products and yield variance for process manufacturers in food, chemicals and cosmetics. The framing that Odoo is only for discrete assembly is a misconception that does not hold up against the implementations live in our portfolio.
